Casting class in jewelry school was incredibly inspiring. There is so much more to learn about this process and the potential it has alongside my work but this one was fun! This piece was my final casting project so I took it to the next level and built a brass and sterling silver jewelry stand for the pendant to be displayed on.
The dragonfly body and two wings were carved first out of wax, then cast using sterling silver. The brass wings are hand constructed and roller printed to get the pattern. To add a touch of color I used a small tube setting and added an amethyst to it’s back. The pendant comes on a sterling silver chain and flutters when you wear it 🙂
